Bead-Blasting Canvas Micarta

What does this look like, and does it make for good grips? I'm thinking about putting the slabs on a knife, then bead-blasting the whole thing. Would this work, or do I need to do them at seperate times, then put them together?

It will work fine doing it when it's assembled.

I've bead-blasted many a canvas micarta, black, green, natural. I much prefer this over any other finish. About when it's assy. like Mike said.

Make sure the edges of the knife handle are finished and nice, if not you tend to blast the steel and it eats up the micarta.
