O.k. guys, this is my first hawk ever. I was going for a rustic look, hope you like it! Let me know what you think :)

This was a kit from knifekits.com that I cut and removed to reprofile and hand engraved... no powertools as of yet, but I figured if I could learn on this someday I'll be better from the experiences learned!

It's art. Too nice to ever use. I could have used that last week in Mafia Wars.... :D

You failed on your rusty look though. Oh nevermind....

i'm amazed by your engraving on it. Do you know what the rockwell hardness is?

heres the pic for those who can't see it...

I agree, you did fail at the rustic look, but you made an excellent piece of artwork. Very Beautiful!

I'm not used to my new glasses. I thought the word was rusty. :D

But that may be the smart alec in me.

I am leaning more to a rustic presentation piece. Very nice no matter what the designation.

Thanks stealthchaser for posting the picture for me, much appreciated!! And thanks for the kind words everyone. I actually tried a mustard bath to give it a rustic look/finish but it didn't turn out very well (first time on that as well). The back half had the right look, but the front half (I'm assuming it's because it's forged and the front is different steel than the back) Anyway I just couldn't let it slide. So I repolished it, still would like to give it something but unsure where to go from here.

I was hoping for something for the mantle peice, my buddy and his girl just got their first home and I thought He could use something manly

crossada, not sure about the RC hadrness on it but it chopped through a couple 16penny nails without dinging the blade. I know the front is quite a bit harder, found that out with the engraving and filework!

I really learned a lot on this project, and truly enjoyed almost every second of it. hoping to do a couple more when I catch up on a few other projects that are on the books

Thanks all!!!

You're gonna give it to him without testing it??? Dude...that's just plain wrong...and very inconsiderate I might add. Look...send it to me and I will give it a proper test...no! no!...no need to thank me!...anything to help a hawk brother! PM me for the shipping address bro!

Lol..hahaha Thanks for the offer CitizenQ! I really appreciate that, Maybe I'll box it right up ;) Really appreciate all the compliments guys. Make me feel right at home, If you ever walk up on my campfire you'll all be welcome!!
