This is my first posting at this part of BF. I am not positive my Knife Maker membership even allows this but think it does. So, I'll find out. All my time to date has been at the Shop Talk section of BF. I hope I am not out of bounds.

Anyway, this is my latest knife (#16 for me to date) and because of our current bow hunting season I was able to field test it on deer. The knife performs very well in the field and cleans up well with no blood residue left in the handle after simple hand rubbing with soapy water. It has field dressed, skinned, de-boned, trimmed and cubed two buck deer without resharpening and still shaves even at the curved part area of blade that takes most punishment. Cubing was done on a cherry cutting board and all parts of both deer was cubed. All this done by the maker as a field test, yours truely. The blade was heat treated by me to 60 HRc hardness and deep cryogenic tempering was incorporated.

The knife and its specs are here: http://riflestocks.tripod.com/pics13.html

The knife balances between the back of ebony spacer and the first handle pin.

This knife will be shipped with a pouch style leather sheath by Dave Larson (not yet made) and a REFUNDABLE 50 dollar deposit will retain the knife package. The price delivered to any of the 50 United States is $225 (reduced). A certificate of origin and heat treating specifications are included.

Thank you. You are the first to point out there is no #6. That one is the same as 7 and 8 but was delivered to my impatient lady because she just had to have it A.S.A.P.. I never shot a picture of it.

Number five was a early 72nd birthday present for my father and I shot that one on the hood of my old pickup truck during Spring turkey season up in the mountains here in WV. Sure wish he would have gotten a turkey that trip.

Thank you TRL. Yes all are gone except this one but I can make'em again to your specifications.

Just thought I'd chime in and let people know that Roger is quickly becoming the official "Head of Research and Heat Treating Guru" over in the shoptalk section, and has the dedication to give Paul Bos a run for his money.....even if he does need to sell ALOT of knives to get that kind of equipment ;)
Seriously, he's done his homework several times over and we've all been really impressed with the quality and progress of his work.

Good luck Roger

Matt, you are WAY TOO kind to me. This is the truth and I really DO MEAN this: I try to share back with all us on 'Shop Talk' because when I did not know much of anything you great knife makers took me in and tried to teach me. I promised all there and myself that regardless of what I might be fortunate enough to learn I would share it always with those here. I will continue to keep my promise and I continue to learn from you others also. I am the one that is appreciative of you fellows - the ones that put up with my ignorance and somehow saw something worth teaching.

Aside from knowledge, Roger makes a beautiful knife. I've had the pleasure of seeing his work up close. He pays attention to the little details and that makes a big difference in my opinion. He's a class maker and a heck of a nice guy, I'd recomend him to anyone.

Roger makes an excellent knife. I have one and can vouch for the fine craftmanship that went into my knife.

This knife is well worth the asking price. You couldn't ask for a nicer guy to deal with either!
