I am thinking about getting this knife to use as a keychain knife. Does it have a lanyard hole? Its not mentioned in the ads and all I have seen are web sit pictures and I could not tell for sure. Any other coments on this knife would also be appreciated.

The 330 does have a lanyard hole on the standard G-10 version, but the types with fancy handle materials do not. It's a very slick little piece. Be aware that it cannot be disassembled due to the construction of its stop-pin.

It's the Benchmade that Les DeAsis carries everywhere. I've seen him use it on sushi.

The standard G10 version (with lanyard hole) is probably the one you want rattling around with your keys and pocket change. Good knife, takes up just about no space.

Beam,
Corduroy is correct in that it does have a lanyard hole. It's a great little pocket knife but to me is a little large for a keychain knife though it could be used as one.

I have had mine for about a year now and I have really been pleased with it. It's a quality piece and I have long thought that it's been overlooked as a great everyday carry small folder. It's very light, thin and good lock-up.

I have read some complaints though about quality on some of the newer ones over on the BM forum. I can only relate to my example and I highly recommend it.

I received mine a week ago and it is beautiful. A strong, and very light little liner lock I must admit

A very nice knife, indeed. Just a hair-brainded thought here, would it be possible to have pocket clips on both sides of the knife? Picture this: titanium clips as wide as the handles with, say, 1/32" g-10 screwed into them, placed where the g-10 grips already are, and facilitating tip-up carry, even though I would prefer tip-down.

I don't usually work on knives that I can't disassemble, but I'd have a go at that. Email me if you'd like to discuss it in detail.

BM: Ignore this Post!

It's not commonly known, but the little BM330 comes apart very easily..what looks like a rivet isn't!

The bad news one came apart in my pocket when the screws under the scales came loose.

The Good News is BM fixed it, and its turned into one of my favorite little blades...very at home in a pocket, not so fancy that I have to worry about keys and coins scratching it.

I had some NW Cutlery aftermarket cocobolo scales on it, but I wasn;t happy with how they looked....way too thick for such a thin pocketknife.

But those Green Malachite Scales at the Knifecenter look way-cool!

Howard, if you're lurking here...can I buy them seperately????

If the malachite versions are anything like the pearl versions, the scales will not be interchangeable with the G10 version. The lower rear of the handle in the pearl version comes to an obtuse corner, while the standard G10 version is rounded. Some of the pearl versions are still in the pipeline, I'm told, at least by one distributor who is sending a few my way. Combo edge, I think. Benchmade will swap blades - plain for combo or versa vice, if properly coaxed and rewarded. Nobody's offered to sell me any in malachite yet - note at wholesale, anyway.

In either pearl or malachite, the fancy 330's fairly beg to be disassembled and given at least a 320 grit lengthwise hand-rubbed finish, the better to sneak into a conversation with William Henry. What's a little warranty voiding among friends.

That is great news! These little guys are just begging for customization, but from looking them over I thought that "rivet" would prevent it. Muahahaha!

I took the G-10 scales off mine and put it on my keyring. That makes it lay flat against the keys and really reduces bulk. Also if I ever stop using it as a keychain knife,I can put the G-10 back on and it wont look too scratched up.By the way,I use it for all utility purposes and have never had a problem. This allows the tactical knife in my back pocket to stay extra sharp

I got my Benchmade 330 today. Got it from BAYOU LAFOURCHE KNIFE WORKS http://www.knifeworks.com/. Very fast shipment and great service and great price.

Very nice knife. Its the smallest linerlock I can remember seeing. If any one knows of a smaller porduction linerlock let me know.

The quality is very good. Good fit and finsh. Good lock up. I would say about 2/5 of the handle is the exposed titanium liners which have a kind of "orange peel" finish. The blade is quite sharp, particularly for a Benchmade. Its sharper out of the than any new Benchmade I have owned.

This knife is thin, very thin. Even the section of the handle with the G-10 scales.

My only criticism of knife is that the G-10 spacer only goes up as far as the G-10 scales. Which good as far as visuals go but I think dimes in the pocket could hit the blade edge.

Corderoy, it appears that the stop pin is just captured by the liners. I will probably take it apart eventually.

I am going to go and enjoy this knife.

Some more of the pearl handled 330's have emerged from somewhere, because one of my distributors just sent me a few, and presumably to some other dealers too. Plain edge, no less.

I checked with Benchmade customer service, and they say those would be part of that one limited run they did a few months back. They also say that they didn't make any in malachite, so those would be a third party project.
