benchmade 940 axis lock

I recently purchased a Benchmade 940, however, its axis lock makes a clicking noise every time I open and close it. It is apparent when you open and close slowly as opposed to flicking. Basically there is a small clicking noise before the lockout click. The noise occurs when the axis lock is at the bottom point where it then reverses to the top to lock out. After close inspection, it looks like the axis lock stud is shifting very slightly to the side every time it makes this noise. I have had other Benchmade knives with the axis lock, but none of them make this clicking noise. Does anyone know if this is normal, or if this may pose a problem in the future? I appreciate any feedback, thanks.

The clicking noise has been discussed before in regards to the Ritter Griptillians.

The consensus seemed to be that all Axis-lock knives have it, some just more pronounced, i.e. louder, than others.

I pulled out a bunch of my Axis-lock knives and carefully listened to them while I was opening them. Most of these knives had some clicking sound, so I suspect that the others did; the "silent" ones probably clicked, just that the sound was below my hearing thresh-hold. I do note that most of the silent ones had been carried regularly, thus had more break in.

I have a mini grip and a 710 that clicks. I have a second 710 which doesn't have any click.

I just checked out a bunch of my Axis locks and some had a small click, but others did not. I think you will find such behavior quite normal.
