Hi All!

Back about a year ago, before I knew squat about knives, I bought a BM 730 Ares model with ALL BLACK micarta scales and a BT coated blade. Very fine looking knife. Got it from 1SKS on sale because they were getting rid of old stock. Now I've come to realize that this is different from the current 730/735 series.

So...does anybody know how common/rare this perticular version is? I can't see to find anything about this model on-line.

Thanks for any help you all can provide :D :D

Ben

The only black-handled version I'm aware of is the April 2000 Knife of the Month. The blade was satin finished with the April 2000 inscription on the blade.

You might want to try the BM Forum at www.benchmade.com

It sounds like you may have something rather unusual.

There was a black handled version called the 732 in production for a little while also. The one you have most likely has black G-10 scales. Other than the limited edition CF handles, they were all G-10 in various colors.

knifenerd and medusaoblongata,

Thanks for the help and information. Yes, the scales are G-10 not micarta, wasn't completely awake when I first posted.

I'll pose the question on Benchmade's forum too.

Thanks again
