I've been keeping my eye out for a new axis lock dress EDC type folder for myself and the kulgera caught my eye, now normally i enjoy a little bit of heft in my EDC i currently carry a 550HG griptillian, i've found however that where i am currently employed id like something that would fit better with my three peice blue pinstripe suit, and of course the black, blue and silver Kulgera came to mind.

anyone like this knife?

cheers!

I have the knife, and I really like the look and feel of it. It does have tiny bit of side to side movement, but can be fixed by adjusting the pivot screw with a torx bit.

i cannot speak but in the highest terms of the Kulgera.

(not my knife)

the blade shape is perfect for EDC, with a nice sharp (but not too fragile) point and a subtle, functional recurve on the blade that is not so radical so as to pose problems sharpening. of course the axis lock is pretty much bomb proof and the s30v is a great steel to put a thin edge on.

the physical dimensions of the 930 are also perfect for EDC. it weighs in at just 3 oz and the 3.5 in blade is an ideal size for EDC tasks. the knife also has a nice slim handle and a blade-to-handle ratio that is nearly 1-to-1. so, the Kulgera is a very economic package when it comes to assessing size vs functionality.

the styling is sleek and distinctive and the partial scales actually serve a function in allowing your hand to really dig into the liners when you need an extra firm grip. the G10 is layers, black and blue but the blue is subdued enough that it doesn't look over the top. the knife is otherwise finished superbly with many nice little details. pretty nifty for a production folder!

my only minor criticism of the knife its lack of functional jimping. this is not a true failing in my opinion as the knife is essentially a medium use knife anyway. for such tasks, the inherently solid geometry of the handle and the spine of the blade make jimping unnecessary.

for the record, the 930 replaced my (nearly) decade-old 710HSS as my primary EDC. the 710 was (and still is) my favorite folder but it has its negatives when it comes to EDC. considering all the tasks that i've asked the 710 to do (and NOT asked it to do!), the 930 will be more than up to the job and is much less of a pocket-full.

that's my take :D

I have this one on order. Should be here soon. I was at a dealer for benchmade today. They had it in stock and was able to handle it. It is a nice blade for sure. The handle is really nice.

The Kulgera is a beautiful knife....looks good for dress-up too.

Other nice dress-ups (in my mind) are: 635 mini-Skirmish, 440 Opportunist, 960 Osborne, and the new 480 Shoki (very classy looking)
