Would appreciate any feedback on this Ti framelock.
Benchmade 750 Ti Framelock.
Thanks,
Dave

The quality of the knife was very inconsistent. Some locks stuck badly, others were smooth. My lock stuck for the first 1000 openings, then became smooth. With the plastic backspacer and plain ti handles, I find the knife ugly. The axis lock offerings are much smoother. Get one of those. I gave my Pinnacle to a friend. The BM-710 takes the cake.

Hmm, this review was written pretty long time (as for current crazy times) ago.
However looking from today’s position I can confirm all my statements for sure. More, choosing today the folder for outdoors conditions or, saying in another words, absolutely reliable folder I would go with Pinnacle or similarly built one (no recurved edge please and this is all my complaints).
Why? It’s quite simply! No thin parts (springs for ex.) to break, no narrow and hard to clean spaces (the space between G-10 scale and locking liner, especially nested one) to collect aggressive deposits what could cause rust, nothing to rust, nothing to clog etc.

Simplicity is genial!

Ilooked at a 710 axis lock. I could see a little spring thingy in there and I worry about that. Is it a problem?

I own a 750BT in ATS-34. I love the knife, it is definitely a user, I'm sending mine back for the bronze washers, other than that, it is solid.

Nope, it’s not a problem.
Axis lock holds the blade securely even with one spring broken so you’re not risking to get any harm at accidental spring breakage. As I can consider using my axis lock equipped knives, observing Forum discussions, speaking with BENCHMADE folks and with users from other side – they break pretty rarely.
If one spring breaks just send your knife to BM Customer Service and they will reaper it for free and with no questions.
Of course if you are able to send it... This is the main reason why I choose axis lock for urban carry but would go with simpler mono lock going into deep wilderness.

BTW, my Griptilian 551 is with me daily for close to 1,5 years right now and it holds up more than decently. Sometimes it lands in the drawer because I’m preparing writing on another knife but later I always come back to it.

As to 710 Axis Lock – try to handle it before buying. A lot of Folks here are amazed with this knife, however for me its handle doesn’t work very well. Axis AFCK fits my hand much better. Also think about recurved edge sharpening, it can rise some problems if you are not advanced sharpener or/and do not have appropriate tools. Anyway AFCK or Gripty are much easier to keep them sharp. Pinnacle’s edge is also recurved but not so severely.

You can get bronze washers for this knife? How much would it cost?
