Looking at the becker necker for the tough -prybar type looking blade but some things about it dont appeal to me. I would prefer a more natural look, like stag or somethin(not real sure here...) also not a neck knife preferably.

I can help narrow it down some more if you all can think of specific questions but Im kind of hitting a wall here...

There are so many options to consider, one that I will give you is to think about checking with Michael Cooper, he is a knifemaker and Bladeforums member.

He makes a model called the MightyMite. It falls in your size range, and im sure if you wanted he could modify handle or blade length as well. He does some nice leather work, but can also do kydex, so you covered on sheaths.

As you can see from the picture of mine, the handles are blue g10. You can get other handles as well. A friend of mine got one with very pretty wood handles, so im sure Mike could fix you up with a number of natural materials.

The blade spine thickness and hollow grind give an excellent mix of blade toughness while giving an edge thin enough to make a very good cutter.

His prices are also quite good, and quality is top notch.

Thats pretty nice, what kind of price range are we talkin here?

I have a (believe it or not) a Gerber gator fixed drop point that I love! I with I could shrink it and put on some wood slabs and nickle bolsters or jigged bone or something. That would be a funny thing to do to a blade with 440A or whatever it is. You know, it makes a great user though...gets real dang sharp holds it ok, and sharpens right back up easy as pie.Not to metion rust resistance.

Anyway I guess the point is I really like the blade shape but it, and the quirky nylon sheath is a bit bulky for EDC.

:( Im really not helping am I ..........

Im not trying to avoid the issue, its just that I hesitate to mention prices since this knife is a couple of years old, and they could have changed. Im sure it varies a bit based on steel and handle material.

As I recall, I think this one was priced at 120-ish or so.

Are you interested in convex ground blades with nicely shaped handles?

I'm recently getting into the Bark River knives. You might want to Google them out a little bit. Expect to spend either side of $100.

Brusletto, they have a few models, but I really like the Liten Profiglerkniv (avaliable from ragweedforge.com).

Awesome little knife, very small, and ridiculously (I mean RIDICULOUSLY) sharp, as well as being a piece of cake to sharpen freehand.

Blackjack small/slicks might also be a good idea. Look on NGK.

The Blackjack Small is a very nice knife. Don't forget the Fallkniven WM1 and F1 models.

As noted above, look at the Bark Rivers (try Treemanknives.com). They're terrific knives, reasonably priced and with a wide variety of blade lengths and handle materials. Glad I'm not you though...all the recommendations above are great!

Try carry a Benchmade Outbounder with an IWB Kydex/Concealeax sheath. It's light and thin and u probably won't even know it's there till u need to use it.

At the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta on June 4,5,6th. If you are looking for a knife, that would be the place to go. The Blade Show is a must for any knife enthusiast.
