Anyone know the best place to buy Quality throwing knives? I have a couple but no matched sets... tru balance is a Michigan company aren't they? The brand doesn't matter to me so much as quality.

I buy the 10" cheapies from www.cheaperthandirt.com. They're only $5 each, but they hold up great. I use hockey tape to wrap the handles. I used to use 550 but it always fell apart pretty quick since the edges around the handles are pretty sharp and when they bounce and strike something hard they tend to cut the paracord. Anyway, they are fun throwers and when they get out of whack they're easy to bend back into shape.

On the topic of rigid/quality throwers I don't have too much experience because I hardly ever throw expensive knives. But I do know a Czech who escaped from a Russian hard labor camp. Uranium mines. He swears by bayonets and according to him, "I'll stick you to a tree and skin you alive".

Very unique guy, has a love for life that only men who have truly been in the mud and the blood and the beer have. I always respect his hardcore opinions, never sugar-coated and always of the KISS camp. If I was looking for a man-killing thrower I'd check out some bayonets.

Tru Bal is in Grand Rapids, give them a call, leave a message and they send you a booklet with their knives... ir's pretty hard to find the better ones
