Best way to attach G10 scales to a knife that has been Cerakoted?

This is my first post.

I'm about to finish my first knife. I want to use G-flex epoxy and corby bolts on the G10 scales. I'm wondering what's the best way to wipe off the excess epoxy that will squeeze out once I fasten the corby bolts down.

I don't want to leave a residue on the G10 or the Cerakote. I'm just nervous because I know I can't sand any epoxy off if there is some left behind without damaging the Cerakote.

Will just a damp cloth work? Alcohol? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ah, to expand on this, we typically don't use 5 minute or even 15 minute epoxy, so when I say no problem, I'm talking about long setting epoxy that you have ample time to clean to your satisfaction. Especially using corbys, as there are no clamps in the way.

However, it would behoove you to clean it up, set it aside, and check it again in an hour or two, as the viscous epoxy can continue to be expelled as it's curing. I've been bitten by this in the past. Usually after an hour or two any that will migrate has already done so.

Personally I would make the scales removeable... The cerakote will wear off in the hot spots and you will want to refinish the knife at some point, then you will only be limited to a blasted finish if you have permanent scales.
