Bevels -please help

I have been reading the forums for a while now and recently decided to join. I Have learned loads of stuff about knives, but I am still puzzeled as to what the hell a bevel is. I have read the words primary bevel and primary grind quite a few times now but still don't understand. Please help!

Primary grind is just what it says. The main grind of the knife, hollow grind, flat grind and so on.

Edge bevel is the part that is ground to an edge. Most times its a bit steeper than the primary grind...although on a few knives the primary grind gos all the way to the edge. That makes a thin great slicing edge, but is not as strong as making the edge steeper than the primary grind.

That should be accurate for a basic explanation.
