Its great to see Spark's idea of putting together a PSK around the RC6 and/or RC4. I'm wondering if there is any chance of making them distinct from the generally available production models. A change-up in micarta color or blade coating color that set them apart would be a fun alternative.

Even if this doesn't happen its still a great idea, but I'd love to see something distintive about the knife itself.

Green powdercoated , that is my vote...or a BF logo etched into the micarta RC logo on blade or vice versa.

Green (OD) would be good, but that wouldn't look so great with grey micarta. That would need to be green, black or natural to make a good combo.

I'd be in on one of those PSK's, and agree that a unique RC to go with it would be an excellent idea. OD Green would be great. I do like the foliage green used on the RTAK II as well.

since I am getting beat down on the RC w/orange scales hopefully the Spark/BF RC Blade will be OD Green...........LOL...I hope everyone Knows I love the OD Green and will continue to push for one until it has hit production !!!!!!!!!!! :D

Tony, you're just too passionate.... ;)

Maybe if you could learn to color better folks might agree with your color choices more :D

LOL ! I know being a lefty colors don't fit so well !! LOL.....I could not rotate the page to help me out ...

I'll gladly join forces with you on pushing for the OD blade color as long as you'll ally with me on getting green micarta. That is one of the things I still like better about the Ontario 1095 RATs. For me grey screams 'urban', not wilderness.

I can definitely dig on the change in handle color, green would definitely be a neat idea. I don't think I'm up for a green blade though ( :barf: , sorry), either satin or black would work for me (and I dare say many others at WSS).

Tony your not alone.

I am right there with you on the fight for OD and Orange.:D

Same here, and I perfer canvas micarta to linen.

Ever since Spark posted this project I've been looking forward to it. This is REALLY going outside what I would normally carry in the woods. I'm very much a "traditional" axe, hatchet, and folder guy when it comes to woods tools. Have been infatuated with tradition Scandinavian type knives forever. In fact the only kit that even resembles a military look for feel is an old reproduction of a WWII medical bag I use for my current BOB.

The new RAT RC-6 is something I'm very much looking forward to getting out in the woods and putting it to use (no matter what color, or marking) so I'm in regardless.

Marking would be nice, but not sure what I would prefer really. Orange G-10 for visibility would be nice. A satin blade IMO would be nice as well. Not sure about the coated blades yet, as I have never owned one.

No matter the outcome, a RAT RC-6 is in my future. Read nothing but good things about the Ontario RAT 7 in the past. I would venture to guess the the new RAT cutlery will be as good if not better.

 I can not wait for the release of the RC6...;) did I forget to mention the RC4 as well, excellent camp blade.... :D did I forget to mention OD Green coating for me...:p

My preference would be a uncoated blade with a brighter handle color(red, orange, ?blue/black or tigerstripe G10?) as it is a survival blade instead of a tactical. It would be cool if we could have a laser engraved BFW&S mark on the handle too but those things would just raise prices. But as long as we are dreaming......

 Yes kris as long as we are dreaming ....OD Green........awe..I can see it now, Excellent OD Green powder coated blade with a crisp Golden RC logo ,Sun shimmering off of the logo making the golden triangle look to be dancing on the Green blade like a young Beautiful women free in a green pasture of coastal grass ,dancing without a care ....Micarta or G10 scales...does not matter to me as long as we are dreaming ;)..OD Green for me ! :D

Just don't forget those green micarta slabs:D For those of you who want orange it would be better to get an orange lanyard. Some of us don't like to be so obtrusive in the woods:)
