Here's another one just for kicks.

This is BG-42 heat-treated by Paul Bos. I have been very impressed with BG-42 in all characteristics. It is a very nice blend of qualities between forged simple alloy and some of the stand-by stock removal steels (IMHO).

Hollow ground on an 8" wheel, the radius of the plunge cuts sweeps in line with the radius on the front bolsters. Dovetailed front and rear bolsters in 416 done via Don Cowles tutorial...saved a lot of frustration over my old method...THANKS Don! :D

Curly Koa from our own Mr. Tom Mayo!

Everything satin finished as always.

Bow-tie fileworked into tapered tang (kinda went with the handle shape).

Thanks :)
Nick

Here's a close up of the handle. There almost looks to be a line between the bolsters and tang...trust me, there's NOT, it's just a difference in steel color between the 416 and BG-42 :)

Hey, Nick,
Beautiful knife, as always. But, how come you didn't mirror polish those bolsters? :D :D :D j/k of course. Nice.

That's a nice one NIck. I love the way the bolsters make the entire thing look solid and heavy while still keeping that trim dagger look!

There should be a chiropractor at each knife show that Nick is in just to adjust all the turned heads. Danmmit Nick stop it!!

Man O Man, this one just doesn't stop... Nick that's fantastic, I don't know where to focus my attention next! Beautiful and dangerous, that's how I like em. :D

Wowie, thanks for the kind words guys! :)

The bow-tie/opposing arrows, is a funny story. I started off thinking they were going to be opposing arrowheads...something I saw from our own Rob Simonich before, but a lot of people looked at it and said, "that's cool how the bow-tie filework, works in conjunction with the bow-tie shaped handle."

So, to make lemonade from such lemons, I rounded the arrows out a bit and made a bow-tie on each side of the tang.

I just realized you can't see the stripe (curl) in the Koa w/o turning up the brightness on the monitor. Well, with my pc anyway.

Thanks again...it is much appreciated!!! :D
