I finally got off it. I need another big chopper/bowie like I need another hole in my head. But I am one of those who agrees with the late Ron Hood. You need a big knife in the woods. And I just love big knives. So I have a Hoodlum on order. It will be interesting to compare it to the Ranger RD9, ESEE Junglas, Busse Bushwacker, Becker BK9, and Browning competition knife. At least interesting to me. Most big knives are just too thick and heavy to be useful in the bush. The Hoodlum only weighs a little over 14 oz, so it should be fast in the hand. And 5160 is a great steel for a "Beater".

I have a summer's worth of bush whacking to catch up on out back. The Hoodlum will get a good workout. I'll post a review here on the Buck forum, if the mods will allow it. I figure Buck customers will want to know how this new big knife does. Designed by Ron Hood, it is sure to be a serious outdoor knife.
