Just arrived. It's big.

Knives are on page 972-989.

It took me a while to find them.

I'm just catalog-challenged.

:)

I think they have a specific dollar amount that triggers the hard-cover.

I made a few insanely extravagant purchases this year.

I just got it today, though......yours may be in the mail.

:)

Preferred victims, more likely.

Five hundred bucks for a fancy Buck knife.

:D

I got one of those yesterday. My third one.
Apparently spending way too much at Cabelas

Does anyone collect these monsters?

I came close to trashing the previous two in a cleanout to the paper recycle bin a while back.

But something told me some buck knut might want them.

Goodness,,, The AG S30V 110 is now up to $90

That is just too close to what you can build a 110 for via the custom shop. I'll go with Buck, should I ever need another S30V

I'd hang onto these hardcover catalogs and keep them as mint as you can.

They will be treasures someday for somebody.

Probably not me, as I'm not likely to last long enough.

BG,,, can you say PACK RAT!!

I still have paperbacks from when I was in the service in 65-67 :o

Kids call me a hoarder,,, It is great fun to slip stuff in their truck when they head home. But then have to do a body search after they have been in my cave.

They send them to us lightweight spenders too. I get on every year and thay are lucky if I order $80-100 a year from them and that is a rare occasion.

I've been getting them for about 9 or 10 years. Every time I get one, I think, it must cost a small fortune to have them made....

My dad received one a few days ago, and I was looking it over and thinking the same thing. I'm sure they get their money back on 'em, though. They have a lot of nice stuff, and price it accordingly.

I was comparing it to another book I'd recently purchased for dad, from Amazon. Big, 2-1/2" thick hardcover book about raptors in New Mexico, published by the UNM Press, cover price is $50. Printed in CHINA. The Cabela's catalog was printed in the good ol' USA, and it's FREE (for some 'preferred customers', anyway). Struck me sort of ironic...

I do think some of the large and more beautiful catalogs may become extinct.....maybe fairly soon.

Perhaps most books will go the same way.

Everything will be on a Kindle or some such gadget.

I don't like it, but ...... nobody cares.

:D

Its funny , I used to buy alot online at cabelas and never got the hard back over 25 years , while my buddy always got it. Now that I hardly buy Ive got it the last 5 years. I have made the long road trip to the Reno store a dozen times thou so dont know if that helps or not.

Threw the catalog out without even looking in it. Everything in that book is too pricey! Better to wait for the stuff to go on sale or match up with other discount offers.
I did keep the Fifty-year sticker and put it on the inside garage door, with my collection of bumber-stickers.

I agree, their prices are often a bit high but I still love browsing through the big book. They sometimes have good deals on their sale knives. About once a year, I redeem my points from using my Cabela's Visa card to get discounts on their knives. I recently got a Buck Paklite skinner from them for free by redeeming my Visa card points.
