Here's a new one,... hot off the anvil. :)

23 inches OAL, 16 inch blade from 1065 with cord wrapped integral socket handle. It's right about 2.5 inches wide at the widest part of the blade.

It must be the season for big choppers, working on a big one myself.

Seeing you finish this extremely functional looking piece has inspired me.

Your blades have always been an inspiration to me (see attached pic). This one is no exception. What size stock did this start from? I really need to pick-up that forging video of yours.

Troop, Sorry I don't have a close up of the handle, but it's the same type of wrapping I've been doing for a while. It's a series of individual Turks head knots, saturated and sealed with shellac, to form a very hard and tough composite with the tightly woven cotton cord.

Rick, I started with 1/4 by 1 1/2 inch stock, not sure how long the piece was though.
