Blackwood Knives

Welcome Seymour.

I think you will receive some very good reviews concerning the Quality of Mr Blackwood's knives. I only own one of his knives but it is VERY nice and well worth the price. Neil has recently been working more with Stellite and Talonite steels but he continues to make blades using other Steels as well.

I would suggest that you also do a Search on this Forum and you will be able to read what others have previously posted.

I think you will like Neil's knives. I've got a small hunter and a HGT. I had another, but Greg from AK has it now.

Neil's a top bloke and makes a great knife

And a DARN good lookin' feller also...

My other friends,

THANKS once again for the good press. I sincerely appreciate it.

seymour1,

I own several of Neil’s knives and consider him a good friend. You should just call or e-mail Neil. I am sure he would be happy to answer any of your questions. You will not regret buying a Blackwood.

What Drac said. Neil is a helluva guy, and I personally can't say enough good things about the man or his knives. I currently have a Small Hunter, a Small Game, and a one-of-a-kind Loveless-style hunter. Outstanding stuff. I want more. AND he's a Scot! What a package!

I just realized that my last statement could be misconstrued, so let me rephrase. "What a combination!"

Well, until Dr. Lathe posts a pic, I'm not agreeing to the "good lookin fella" comment.

Neil's work is seriously good stuff…innovative designs, top-notch materials and exquisite craftsmanship. He's also a pleasure to deal with. I own a couple of his knives (an American Ninja in D2 and a Stellite Small Tac/Utility) and I couldn't be more pleased with them. His Concealex sheaths/carry systems are great, too. I have complete confidence in his work and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again.

Well, I only have positive feedback

It was a pleasure to do business with Neil.
In other words, that was a knife

Responses were prompt, Neil pointed out several mistakes or less than optimal choices in my specs for this knife,
spent his time explaining and discussing different aspects with me. Listened carefully to all my requests, filled in all the gaps I've left & in the end I got a great knife
smile.gif
Which serves me well for several months from now.
I guess I can say one more time, Thanks Neil

Seymour- I have a feeling you won't get much for negative feedback. Neil and his work are very well respected around here, for good reason. Great functional designs, excellent craftsmanship, great guy to deal with. Try one, you won't be disappointed!

seymour- I purchased a hawkbill neck knife from Neil a few months ago and I've been carrying it ever since. It's got a fantastic hawk blade and a beautiful rag micarta handle.
It's light so you don't even notice you're wearing it but it's a solid as a mutha...
and the price could'nt be beat and Neil is a top notch guy.
If you've got a Blackwood in mind, just get it and you won't be sorry !!!

Donald.

I have only one Blackwood, a talonite neck knife, really a small hunter, with two sheaths. I love this knife. The workmanship is exceptional and it is now my standard utility neck knife on all my kayaking and salt water trips. I wish I had more of Dr. Lathe's work, and I hope to in the future. Very reasonable price, surprisingly short delivery time and an absolute pleasure to deal with.
He's OK, I guess

Don't own any of his knives yet. I will hopefully. I think highly of the work and the person.

Paul,
Thanks for complimenting my "package"!! I'm OK with that

Michael,
Instead of MILLED thumb notches.....I like to call them "Sebenzaesque" thumb notches. Thanks you you, this has now become an extra operation on just about all my knives !!! Again, I'm OK with that

Ray and Dave,
The shipments to Austria and Australia the same day had my wife going crazy !! And yes, I'm OK with that too

Thanks again everyone for the kind words! This goes beyond appreciated, it's touching.... SERIOUSLY!!

Unfortunately I have only one Blackwood, and unfortunately it is well made and top-notch. So I'll recommend him highly

. My tactical Talonite (it was Neil's Talonite numbah one baby!) is one of my favorite knives. Gonna get some more Blackwoods when I get back in the US.

C4,

Nice knife!!

PS. I just read the above statements/endorsements (yeah, I wrote my comment first and read the previous ones later, it's not hard to recommend Neil) and I agree with all of you guys.

Reynaert

Ooops..., just realized that the knife is featured in Neil's website. Was that your knife C4 or is it now Neil's 'regular' model?
