Blade etching?

I recently purchased a Masters of Defense Keating Hornet. Absolutely love it. Great quality. To those of you who are familiar with the MOD logo on the blade: How is this logo applied? Does it eventually wear off? Thanks.

I have a Ladyhawk that is only a week old. I was wondering the same thing. Only thing I know is that a lot of people do not like the mini bio on the blades. I imagine that with use the writing wears, as on most every blade I have ever seen. I could be wrong though.

If it's etched (by acid or lazer) it won't wear off. If it's printed on, it will wear off with use. Most production knives with logos are printed, the only (production) maker I can think of that etch all their blades is Wilkinson Sword, the chances are that the writing on your blade is printed and will therefore wear off.

EDIT - after looking at pictures of the Masters of Defense Keating Hornet, it's definately printed on and will slowly wear off, just the same as the blade coating.
