Can someone please tell me if there are any other differences in the model configurations (thickness, shape, handle, etc.) between the current models with 1095 and some of the older models with D2?
Thanks

Just to clarify, the D2 versions in question was manufactured by Ontario Knife Company, no ESEE/Rowen.

What models were you interested in? I'm guessing the 3.

If it says RAT 3, 5, 7 on one side of the blade and Ontario on the other, it's not an ESEE (or rat cutlery) knife and may be 1095 or D2.

If it says RC (or ESEE) 3, 4, 5, 6 on one side and Rowen on the other it's an ESEE (RAT cutlery) and is made of 1095 -- until the 440c stainless ESEE 4 comes out this summer.

Interested in the 3. I realize it was an Ontario product at the time. Any performance differences with respect to configuration (not steel differences)- as I know this is a whole other topic.
Thanks

The Rat-3 is a bit smaller in length than the ESEE-3. If you have medium-large hands, that may be an issue for you. I would recommend an ESEE-3 over a RAT-3.

Thanks, I just found some additional info from some online publications as well.
I appreciate the help.
