I am finishing up my first blade for heat treating, anything I should know about prior to sending it off? It is ATS-34.

So far my plan is to finish it to 500 grit, drill all the holes for the handles and (possibly) bolsters then clean it with acetone to make sure I don't leave any oils on it.

Any other reccomended steps out there?

Thanks,
Troy

Lightly remove any sharp edges and burrs on your work before H Treat, repeat any prayer which gives you comfort. The Heat Treater or her, will do their very best for you.

I always use a dremel engraver and put my name and steel type on the tang. Also remember to countersink your holes.Dave
