blade profiles

I think my favorite blade on any knife is a bowie blade with a looong sweeping swedge to the tip..............

I'm kind of fond of the Imada High Hollow myself. Unfortunately, I have to say good bye to a 5"er in mint condition with a zero-bevel edge on Friday.
 
It'd have to be a scimitar with a nice upper bevel on the clip of it, either that or a mariner. Of course I have a couple of blade designs that would be really, really sweet. :D

It is, and always has been the Jeff Imada High Hollow (Bowing up and down in praise);)

I really like the weehawk tanto.

I also really like a scimitar.

I guess I'd have to settle for the clip point bowie...:D
 
The question was the best shape, but does that mean favorite shape? What about the kris, it's less flippable, but as a favorite where does it rate?

To me there is no difference between "best" and "favorite" as the Deep Belly Bowie is what I prefer as a daily user blade profile. It serves all my cutting needs, as well as please my esthetic's. As for the kris, looks pretty, but definitly not a daily user. I'd hate to have to constantly sharpen that profile.
 
Anyone else think the BM43 bowie is ugly??

I much prefer the blade on my Bear 114POS.

Damn, I gotta get some new balis.

Don't let Vance Collver hear you say that. That's his design, and if you piss him off, we may not get any more bali's from BM. He is BM's main bali guy right now after all. ;)

Dear lord my good man of all the blade profiles this is THE profile in my opinion. Personally there are few other profiles i like nearly as and well i guess i'm probably a bit biased right now its the only decent bali i can afford. oh well. i love the tanto blades but i don't like how the new 47s flair out toward the tip of them not at all totally turns me off but kris blades are great cept well they're a little ouch for my liking.:eek:
 
Sorry, don't wanna offend anyone. It's just that the 43 bowie is almost flat before it curves up to the tip. I think a bowie with a deeper belly looks much better.
