Blade Show - Table listing on site

Thinking about Blade this year makes me ill. Getting married on June 10th and just don't know if I have the time or money to do it. I must have checked airline flights 50 times in the last two months. :( :D

I'll be with Glenn Smit aka Wolf's Knives, table 17 G. You've got to come by and check out Glenn's Murphy Combat Knives. He is the authorized producer of them. See ya all there. :D

Hey Sean, I just saw your going to have the fella who taught me how to forge and make damascus right behind you. ;)

J. what's his name? Might have to pick his brain a little bit. I'd still love to find a way to setup a forging shop here, zoning issues right now.

I will definitely do my best to get out and check out other people's tables. My wife is coming with me and she's used to being abandoned at the table a little bit, as long as I buy lunch!

Damn it...I am going next year! How do you get VIP passes and tickets?
What are the VIP passes anyway?

Sorry man, I just gave all my VIP passes away. You could try posting a message on this forum for one, each maker was given some but they go fast.

They let you into the show early on the friday and are a three day pass.

Good luck,
Sean

I cant make it this year. My anniversary is June 5th! Arg :D

Everyone's seems to be in June. Our's is on the 13th. Thanks goodness Tess likes knife shows.

What? You didn't actually tell them you wanted to run a forge, did you???

The trick is to make it sound as innocuous as you can to get a business permit. No, there will be no business foot trafic (if run out of a home workshop). There will be no impact to the other neighbors. And for God's sake don't mention anything regarding forging or a forge.

Tell them you're making 'crafts' :)

No definitely didn't tell them it was for a forge! I told them it was for storage. I shouldn't have said zoning, it was really more of an issue with where I can build something on our lot. The regulations are very restrictive as to how far from the road you must be. We are a corner lot so.... No side is really large enough to add something to the property.

I'm still trying to get them to give me an exemption from this, lots of other people have completely ignored this bylaw but they are getting strict with new buildings.

We'll see how it goes. We are planning on moving in the next two years to a more southern climate and plan on buying a place with some room to breath! Won't have any problems then. Just means until I can sort out my immediate problems I can't do any forging.

Sean

Brian.....you're only 3 hours away.....!

You could practically drive down and back the same day....

One things for sure - when you finally do go to Blade....you'll kick yourself for not having gone before. (just "keeping it real" - no offense intended)

Just tell your honey that it's the same as making an annual Mecca trip.....:D

My wife was real iffy at first, but now she looks forward to it nearly as much as I do.

If you change your mind - I've got a VIP pass I'll give ya. It gets you into the show free for the whole weekend (and through the doors early on Friday)

Thanks Dan - We have reservations for our first anniversary for the SAt and Sunday. Guess I'll make a quick road trip next year :D
