I just returned from Blade Show West. I strongly believe this was the best Blade Show West Ever!!

All but 5 makers stayed to the end of the show, the five who left early contacted the show management to advise them that they had to leave early before they left.

Visitor traffic was heavy right to the end of the show. Steve Shackleford and I were talking, neither of us aware of the time, he looked at his watch and said Whoa- the show is over and announced the same. You would not have noticed by looking at the crowd.

I want to thank all the makers and visitors who stayed to the end and proved that we can make Sunday Shows good times for makers as well as our visitors.

The Monarch Hotel put out the welcome mat in style and it was good times!

Hello Ed,
Glad to hear it was a good one! Especially with the "sky falling", as we hear- :)

I was hoping to rope someone here into getting a few photos of your knives. No such luck!

Ed, I really thought the move to the Monarch was a goodone. Normally Sundays are pretty dead but there was a good amount of people milling around. Who knows maybe next year the economy will turn for the better. It was good being able to visit with you.

I was very happy with the new site. There was a lot of shopping going on. some high end but mostly low end. All the same people where buying knives. This will be a very good show in the coming years. And all the folk's I talked to had a good time.

Had a great time and as always met a lot of new folks, made some new friends and caught up with a lot of old friends. The Monarch was a great venue and there was not a lack of people.

Looking forward to next year.

The new venue was AWESOME!!!! After a couple times at the old location a lot of folks were kinda wary of what it would be like. The Monarch was a great spot to hold the show and they had some top notch service provided with lunch being available right at your table. The old location had makers and attendees leaving the show looking for food and the room would clear out at lunch and many did not return. It's hard to describe it, I think everyone who has been to a knifeshow knows what it is, but the "energy" of the show was really good :) I was impressed with the makers who showed and even the vendors and production companies represented. More than a few folks traveled a long ways to get to Oregon and we appreciate that very much :D I left the show with a little bit of money, some cool scores, and a desire to get back into the shop the next day!

Next year for sure!

It was my best BW show to date. Kaye enjoyed the 14 trips to the mall across the street but because of that I barely broke even! Thank God for orders.
The Monarch is a wonderful place with the huge pool and patio to make contacts and talk deals. The cutting competition was a stones throw away with great attendance and experienced mighty men wielding blades. The public were very impressed. Good looking girls scantily dressed didnt hurt either. I'm goin back again.

Actually, Raymond, I've decided to sell my crystal ball so in order to finance the trip next year. My prediction is that I will see you in a year.:)

ok, I'm definitely going next year.
