We're going to be part of the beta team for the new release of the UBB software, and as such, you are going to see some new changes here shortly.
One of the new major features is that we're going to have the ability to have multiple moderators for each forum. So, this will help take up some of the slack for the current moderators, who, although they do a wonderful job, just can't be everywhere at once (and heaven help them if they want a vacation).
So, if you'd like to see a moderator, put a vote in for them in the Suggestion Box forum. We'll be the final judges as to who would be appropriate.
Also, it's looking like the search will be back (YAY!!!!), and we'll have individual message icons, 6 of which were designed by yours truly and are now standard to the UBB software release (Ok, I'm done tooting my horn).
Advertisers, we'll also be able to target specific forums for your banners now, so if you want to concentrate on one area more than the others, we'll now be able to do so for you. We'll be posting rates when the time comes.
Another thing is that if I understand it correctly, each forum will have the ability to have it's own color and style scheme, making it more personalized. This, IMHO is going to be REALLY cool, as each companies forum will be able to look like it's website should they so choose, making it that much more seamless should they directly link. For example, JSP BladeRigger ( www.bladerigger.com ) could have their forum look like their site, while Spyderco ( www.spyderco.com ) could have their own look, and Buck, and Camillus, and so on.
Also, look for some forums to be combined, rearranged, or dumped altogether, as we're getting a bit large for our britches, and need to start being more efficient.
Anyhow, cross your fingers, some major changes are up ahead.
