I played around with this about 8 years ago....didn't think much of it at the time...
I found some 1095 in the shop today...I flat ground it, satanite coated it, Heat treated it, the eched it hot cider vinegar....it should make a good primitive knife to sell at the local BP meet

Looks like a nice bushcraft knife. If you have trouble getting rid of it I'll bet it'd sell instantly on a European knife site, if you don't mind overseas shipping.

It's a one hour knife to me...........thats how much time I have in it from stock to Heat treat.

1 hour or 6 hours, it still looks good, in my opinion!
