I just spent some time in Las Vegas and visited what was once Blanchard's Fine Cutlery. The store is now called R & J Cutlery and Gary Blanchard has nothing to do with this new store.

The new management were very friendly. I spent most of my time talking to the manager, Bob Bennett. He took time to talk to me and to let me handle some of the knives that I was interest in trying out. The time I spent there was very enjoyable. Before I left I purchased a nice small Boye fixed blade. I felt it was only fair afteer having been treated so courteously.

If you are going to be in Las Vegas for any reason, drop in and visit. You will enjoy the experience, and the selection of knives.

And Bob can put a wicked edge on your blade as well. Very nice guy that I enjoy stopping in to say hi to .

What kind of production knives does he have in store??

How about his prices??

I will be in Vegas in March, so I may hold off buying anything until I see what he has.

Well their prices are about the same as other shops in Vegas , though no where even close to internet prices. I was looking at a Kershaw Boa and if memory servers me right their price was like $170 or so...though I do feel the need to spend $$$ there when I can just to show support for the local guys.

The prices listed on the knives seem to be retail, but Bob was willing to dicker a little. I paid more than I might have online, but I got to check the knife out and take it with me right then.

They have a very good selection of production knives including Benchmade, CRKT, Klotzli, Boker, Case, Camillus, Kershaw, Spyderco, CRK and William/Henry. I am not sure , But I think they also had knives from Gerber, Cold Steel and S&W; plus some others as well.

His selection is awesome..and he always has a few Sebenzas to tempt me with. There is another knife store in Vegas but I only go here. It is the customer service and friendly attitude that brings me back , and for that I admit I am willing to overlook the prices . I figure if I buy online I can not feel before I try , if I go there to feel I usually buy there. Wish more places in Vegas were this friendly !!
