Blue Benchmade 940 Axis

The blue model was made in two seperate runs. The first run was limited to 1000 pieces and was one of Benchmades "Knife of the Month". There was a second unnumbered run produced but I am not sure of the production numbers. You may want to ask here http://192.41.25.213/cgi-bin/ultbb/Ultimate.cgi , that is Benchmades forum.

I'm not sure about the production numbers concerning the second run of blue 940's, but I do recall Roger at Bayou LaFourche offering some numbered and some unnumbered. I "think" they made 100 of each. I missed the knife of the month, but I did grab one of the unnumbered second run. One other difference between the KOTM and the second run, besides the markings is the KOTM was an uncoated blade. The second run was I believe only available with Benchmade's BT coating. I may be wrong on some accounts, and I'm sure Pete(Ouch) will promptly come in here to correct me.
