Just won a BNIB Blue Smoke Leek on eBay for $31.00 bucks. I feel like that was a pretty solid price. I have never used a non-frame lock Leek. How does the liner lock compare?

It's not as strong as the frame lock when you're batoning a large tree into submission, and it also may not fare so well against extreme torture tests. :p

Slightly slightly easier to disengage for closing, and no gap when holding it due to the frame lock chunk being turned into the handle. That's about it.

How did you know I liked to baton trees with Leeks? Thanks for the information.

On a knife like the leek a liner lock, while not as substantial as a frame lock should be more than adequate. The leek is a really cool classic Kershaw and I believe you got a good price on yours. Also the blue smoke handle looks pretty nifty IMO.
