Blue Threadlock for a Rukus pivot screw?

I've got a BM Rukus and the pivot screws keep nudging loose. Not so loose that the blade flops out and flies around slicing folks up, but just loose enough to allow a little blade slop when the folder is closed.

I have some Locktite and Permatex threadlock, both BLUE. The Rukus screws are, as pivot screws go, small - #10 Torx head I think. I was wondering if I could put half a drop on each screw? Would I still be able to break them free later?

Sorry Stretch, I've never actually tried, so I can't tell you for sure. But I think you would have a better chance of being able to remove it with no damage using the Permatex Low Strength Purple grade.

Shows the applications for recommended for each grade. The purple grade has applications that are closest to yours.

I use Loctite blue all the time and it works great for knife pivot screws. Make sure the screw and hole are clean and dry before applying. Adjust the screw tension where you like it and let set over night. Any adjusting of the screw after it sets will break the bond and you will have to start over.

I've found the red to be srong enough that it will cuase stripping and such but have never had a problem with blue. That said, I've red threadlocked (permatix or whatever the name is) my gerber paraframe II as I had a lot of trouble with loose screws in the pre-warranty unit.

I use the blue locktite all the time. Its fine to use. As others have mentioned just make sure to clean the areas first before you apply it.

What everyone else has said , plus two on letting it fully cure before you use it.
:D

Put the loc-tite away. Just put a wrap of white teflon plumbers tape on the threads.
