I know you guys probably see threads like this all the time. In any event, i just received my first Blur from KershawGuy. It is a "blem" but i have no idea why. The knife looks perfect. I got the s30v model. All i can say is that every knife nut should own a Blur. What an amazing knife for the price. I just had to tell someone how much i love this knife and you guys are the only ones that will listen! :D Also, order from KershawGuy. GREAT prices and fast shipping. What a guy.

Yep why I love Kershaw Guy and Blurs..Both amazing, sharp and fast! While I have 5 blurs...theres only one KershawGuy! hes the man...even though hes a little too knife crazy haha

I have seen threads about these knives and will agree they are awesome, I have a Orange and a Black S30V blur but I can't carry them because my thumb is too fat to get into the space between the thumbstud and scale to deploy the blade, why couldn't there be flippers? I love the knife and the ergos even more, just can't one hand deploy it. :(

Oh yeah, Kershawguy is the man. :)

I also got one of the s30v's from kershaw guy. I have some non-blem knives that arent as nice as it is..

have you thought of filing down the g10scale with a metal file? i did it with my friends skyline so he can get in there and deploy it with thumb stud/blade stopper

IMO the Blur is the benchmark Kershaw folder; tough as nails, EDC-friendly and affordable. Love the angled studs, trac teck inserts and feel in hand.

Yeah i can't believe KershawGuy makes any money. His prices are too good to pass up. The angled thumbstuds are one of my favorite features. The knife just seems like the perfect size. (for me anyways) Not too big, not too small and the blade has that heft to it where you know you can take on just about anything. Another name i need to drop is Ken Onion's. Not to change the subject but i recently bought a Wal-Mart Ripple. I couldnt believe the craftsmanship for the price on that bad boy.

I know I am a minority but I received my first Blur last week but I just can't become one with it. Like turk.919 I have a hard time deploying it but my thumbs are not fat and fit well. I just have to push much too hard on the studs.

It fits in the pocket nicely, love the thin handle profile. Certainly a substantial knife for a good price.

I will keep playing with it and my outlook may change.

My first Kershaw AO was a Leek and I concur with all the Leek nuts out there. For me, great knife.

Just keep playing with it and trying different angles. I have not liked a few knives because i couldn't figure out how to open them a just right. Once you figure it out though it is smooth sailing. I sometimes use my nail to help quickly fling open thumb stud knives.

You don't get your thumb between the studs and the scales. You push forward on the studs, right against the bevel. Works like a champ. I've never tried to get my thumbs between the studs and the scales, and have never had a problem opening the Blur. It is not my favorite Kershaw, but it isn't because of the studs.

Blur is one of the best all around assisted folders ever. The design has stood the test of time and still ends up in my pocket on a very regular basis. Love my Blurs.

...when used properly, the thumbstuds are some of the smoothest in the business.

So I messed around with it last night and was able to find the "sweet spot" on the thumb stud. The amount of pressure required is to deploy the blade is seriously discouraging when one is pushing on the wrong part of the thumb stud.

Thanks for the help guys! I appreciate the Blur much more know.

My first Kershaw was a Blur, and it was a great introduction to the brand. I still really like the knife, although I don't EDC it much anymore. I don't do as much field work as I used to (more time in office/warehouse environments), so I tend to favor smaller, lighter knives now (Leek and Skyline are current favorites). The A/O on the Blur still remains my favorite of all the assisted knives I've handled (Kershaw and otherwise).

I really really like the blur, one of my favorite edc. My only issue is that im fairly new to sharpening (I use the sharpmaker) and have difficulty getting recurves as sharp as Id like to. I can get it sharp, just not to the level of my skyline or any other non-recurve. This has absolutely nothing to do with the knife itself, just my sharpening skills. I have the same issue with my ZT-350, so I find myself not using them as much because I cant keep them as sharp as Id like to.

Yep. Great knife. I do rotate through all of my collection, but my Blur gets carried more than any of my other knives. It really can't be beat IMHO. :)

Ok, I blame you guys. Started messing with my Blur and found the sweet spot...... It's in my pocket now. Not gonna kick others out just yet but is excellent for house work

See that we helped atleast two of you to be able to use your Blurs! Who says this forum isn't helpful!
