I have been thinking about picking up a Blur in S30v. I recently acquired a Skyline from a member here on the forums. I love the Skyline but was surprised at the size of the knife. It is a little smaller than I was expecting. Like I said I still really like the knife but was just expecting the handle to be a little bigger.
So my question is how does the Blur compare in size to the Skyline? Also if anyone has any input they would like to add about the Blur that would be appreciated also.

Kershaw is bigger.

The third knife is a blur, the fourth is a skyline.

Blur is awesome! I love it so much. It blows the skyline out of the water. the size/weight is more then the blur which is a plus to me and having SpeedSafe make it hard not to buy them all...and some have

The Blur is larger than the Skyline.
Also, the Blur is assisted opening which is very nice!

Awesome! Thanks for the input and the pictures. I am seeing myself getting one of these very soon. Probably the S30v (I may have to get the olive one also). It looks like the Blur also will carry a little deeper in the pocket than the Skyline also? I am also a fan of the aluminum handles.

The in pocket feel is awesome except for 1 thing.. The thumb studs can be a tad pointy/prickly/sharp.. thats the only thing I don't like but can be fixed in 10 seconds with some sanding to round them off a little. the S30V is a great choice. One of my fav Kershaws blur or not.

It looks like the Blur has a pretty thin profile also. I am getting pretty excited about this knife. I am pretty new to Kershaw but I am finding a lot of cool stuff.

I don't have any pix of it in pocket but here are the pocket clips side by side:

Thanks for the picture. Looks like they may ride about the same height. I actually don't mind the way the Skyline rides a little higher in my pocket. It makes it easier to dig it out of my pocket.

Another question...I know that the Blur is an assisted open. Speed safe right? Can the speed safe be deactivate in the Blur?

only if you took it apart and took the torsion bar out..But why would you want to do that.

No particular reason. Just wondering. I personally like the assist feature. I am slipping dangerously closer to buying one of these.

I had a blur, and I loved the knife....

The speed safe broke on me within a week of ownership. I have heard that its a pretty reliable knife, I might have just got a lemon.

I know I could/should have gotten it fixed under warrenty, but its truly a paint in the butt to ship an assisted knife through the border from Canada to USA to get fixed.

I would still suggest anyone I know to get one by the short amount of time I had one (it's a super high value knife), and I still need to get another to give it another go.

Dude all you had to do is get ahold of kershaw and they would have sent you the torsion bar. That is something very easily done yourself, many threads about it. Absolutely no need to send the whole knife or any part of it at all in.

Interesting... I should have done that, but it still worked, it was just gritty and didn't have speed safe. I ended up losing it on a fishing trip a while back.

I'm make sure to get another Blur sometime in the future.

My Blur is my favorite EDC, it's the perfect size, decently light, sharp and very durable. It's a lot higher if you switch it to tip up FYI. You can remove the bar and it functions just like a manual knife with a detent. I actually prefer the non-assist on this model for some reason. Opens just as fast IMO.

I have both and I carry the Skyline much more than I do the Blur.

The inserts on the Blur wreak havoc on the pocket.
