I've noticed that BM lists two different types of steel on Their mod.42.What are the pros and cons of the Swedish steel vs. 440c.thanks,tom.

bottom line is a custom maker will not touch sandvic, while some still use 440C 
.. sandvic might be developed ESPECIALLY for knives (If I read right) but it's still nasty 
.. besides if Ken Onion says 440C is cool then it's cool.
the big factor between these two steels is the hardness and edge retention I think...
