Do any of you guys have either of these models??

I got to hold a BM 420 today at work, just go them in for stock, and I was shocked at how fat the thing is. Its handle is just huge. I was kind of disappointed because it doesn't feel very comfortable...although if I was forced to have one, I'm sure I could live with it... :D

I love the blade shape. Gotham Swedged Clip-Point, never heard of it...but it reminds me sort of like a SOG Tom Cat I think it is...

What do you think of the 420 Resistor?

Can anyone tell me if the 220 fixed blade Resistor is just as fat as the 420 model? I'm very intrested in picking up but I don't really want a fat handle.

I have the 220 and it is a different animal where size is concerned. It is a very simple handle design with nicely coutoured G10 slabs for the handle. I have not handled the 420 but I have seen pictures and it appears to be quite thick. I also don't care for the funky gnawed up G10 handle scales that a few knives have like the resistor.

Not liking the 420. We've had it at work and I can't figure out why they would design and make this. It's big, clunky, stiff, and called the "Resistor" for a reason (It's really freaking hard to open w/o the thumbstud.)

Have both. Although the 420 does have a rather "fat" handle I have no problem with it and in fact like it as it gives a good and solid grip. I would have liked a wider blade but am satisfied with it as is. Those thumbstuds do make it a little hard to open but with a little practice it does come around. The 220 IS NOT nearly as thick and it has a wider, although slightly shorter, blade than the 420. I could stand for the grip to be a bit thicker on the 220 but again am satisfied as is. I really do like the deep carry clip BM has done for the 420.

I wish I could say the same for the belt attachment on the 220 sheath! While I really love the knife the belt attachment blows!

I'm getting use the 420 just from handling it at work...but it still looks fat...

I'm pretty sure I'll be picking up the 220 though. Thanks for the feed back.
