I know this knife has been out for quite awhile, but has anyone experieneced any problems with it. I finally shelled out the $'s and bought one. I've only had it for a couple of weeks so far I like it. I would rather carry a bigger knife but good old Michigan laws limit the blade to 3" (totaly stupid!!). Anyway I was just wondering if there is anything I should look out for. Please feel free to give me any feed back on likes and dislikes.

Thanks in advance for any and all replys.:)

It is versatile, and very much overbuilt for its size. Corries nice in the pocket without the clip. A true classic.

I have two of them currently with a Carbon Fiber M2 model on the way (:D).

I also carry mine loose in the pocket without a clip and will second Mr. Harvey that it is overbuilt for its size and generally an excellent knife. If I had to keep it under 3" I can't think of a better knife to do it with.

Benchmade is like any company and a dud slips out from time to time but by and large this knife is one of those "must have's" for every knife fanatic.

A buddy of mine has been carrying one every day since they first came out and it has held up great, the coating is 80% gone from the blade but that's the only thing wrong with it. It's also his only knife aside from the CQC7 I customized and gave him for his wedding - but he never carries that one.

Not to go off topic, but if the blade is over 3" tell your friendly MI LEO that your not carrying it as a weapon and you'll be fine.

Good luck J-man. Even though it may be the truth not everyone is going to fall for it.

The BM 705 is one of my favorite ~3"-blade production folders. It's a little thick through the handle for it's size (which I happen to like though), but if you want a hard-use small folder, this is it. Another strong point is its pointy tip, which is harder to find in other folders of this size.

I got one and liked it so much I got a spare. At first I thought I wanted a bigger knife but the 705 is the perfect size for me.

Jezz Matt, that wasn't nice. Should I even bother?

(Oh yeah like I usually do, always double check the laws don't take my word for it I forgot to say it that time but the info I DID give was in the Statue proven by a case basis)

Back ON topic, I've only handled the 710... the closest place that carries BM's only had the 710. But thanks to this thread, I have another knife on my endless list :( :) :D
