Bought my 10th ESEE yesterday, a bit surprised.

I bought a plain edge desert tan 3 yesterday, and wow was I surprised at how much I love this knife. I was under the impression that I would like the 4 way better than the 3, but the exact opposite happened.

Now I have two 4s that I don't see using. I won't be able to put the 3 down! I know, "cool story bro". I just wanted to share. :)

I had the same reaction. I got a 4 first and LOVED it, couldn't imagine needing another knife. Then I got a 3 and honestly, abandoned it thinking it was too thin but once I used it and started carrying it it quickly became my favorite knife.

So what's this thread about, you got a DT 4 that you want to take a big loss on? If so, PM me. :D

Luckily I got the three first then the four. I was pretty sure the three was what I wanted but I accidentally ordered the three mil instead. So glad I made the mistake!

I did the same thing! I got my 4 and thought it would be my perfect outdoors blade, until I got my 3MIL and my HEST. Ever since then I hardly ever touch my 4. The HEST stays on my BOB bag so my 3MIL became my do all knife. It really is a great knife!

You just never know with these ESEE knives. I have yet to pick up a 4 since my rat pack 3 is so sweet.

I've got the 3 in desert tan, it's my edc, I'll take the 4's since your not gonna use them!!!!!

It's funny but the 4 was the first ESEE (RC at the time) that I bought. I chose it because I wanted to check out the line of knives and I felt that the 4 was the best "all around" woods knife as far as size and heft. As with everyone here I quickly became addicted and in rather short order, I ended up getting a 6 and an Izula. I then felt that the 6 was so much more comfortable but kept the 4 in my bag for food prep and smaller tasks. In the mean time I had purchased many more RC blades many duplicates as I often gift them and give them away on the spot when acquaintenaces admire them. Well, a couple of months back I bought a ESEE 3 if for no other reason--"just because." I have used this blade for so much since I've purchased it that for the entire winter I don't think I've had a 4 out for any woods time at all. I usually have my 6 paired with the Izula II or the RC-3. The 3 is so much more knife than it appears when you look at the specs on the website. This is not to say that the 4 is any less of a blade than it was when I got it but it's just out of the rotation for now. After the LaserStrike comes out I have a feeling that my regular carry will again change to the LS and Izula II.

I had my three, ordered the pack knives, and didn't think I'd use it much. Seemed small and thin. Used the six and four more. Then I grabbed a three cuz it was close by and cut something. Was one of those Whoa! Moments when I realized how sharp that thing was. Been my favorite since :)

The 3MIL makes for a great IWB carry For EDC, but you won't find me in the bush without at least a 4 or up.

The 4 was and still is my first love. I had an affair with the 3 for a while , so I bought a couple more. It was a great 3-way.:) But my 4 was calling me back , so I returned and she took me back. I realized she was a more heavy duty unit in the bush and was just as versatile , just a little more size for those " heavy-duty chores. It's a polygamous relationship now , as I bring the 3 along with the 4 in case she wants to play also. When I bring the 6 and the Junglas along , things get really out of hand. All sorts of things get cut and hacked up.
That's just the way things roll I guess. Sometimes the ankle-biter Izzie comes along too. It's one big happy family :D

A DT RC-3 and Izula were my first ESEE's. I don't go out into the woods that much. I thought to get a 4 for when I do but I ended up getting a 6. I'm happy with my knives so far.

My RC3mil has always been my favorite - just such a practical size and thickness :thumbup::thumbup:

Its a good reminder of just how ludacrous some of these .25" thick monsters really are :D:D:D;)
