What are some nice Bowies to take a look at? It wouldn't bother me if some makers post their own stuff as long as no one else minds.

AnklePocket,
One that I really like the looks of is Bruce Evans Dragon Slayer. It's big and it really looks like it flows nicely.I'm kinda
biased though as I have one on order.
;)

Yup,that certainly is a very good place to start Darby.That's a beaut x 2.

As long as we're posting huge pics...

This Ed Caffrey bowie is one of my faves.

Anklpocket,
Please bear with me - I'm a cranky, cynical bastid, but I just have to tell you that the search feature is a very useful tool here on BladeForums, and, believe it or not, we've talked about custom bowies here before.

Look here for starters.

Then, I'd encourage you to check out a few dealer sites - especially those that show knives by type.

See some bowies from KnifeArt.com here
See some bowies from Nordic Knives here
See some bowies from BladeGallery.com here

Once you've browsed through everything that's already currently available on the subject, you'll probably come up with a few makers you'd like to learn more about. At that point, you can do another search, this time for threads that mention those makers' names. My guess is you'll find some good information here.

At some point you'll probably come up with some more specific questions, which might be worth asking here.

Please forgive what may appear to be a rather caustic attitude - I'm really just trying to be helpful in a straighforward way...

Wulf, ya caustic Bastid!;)
Just joshin' Wulf, I'd like to add one more suggestion for the search function here.... Do a search on "Danbo". He has got to have a most impressive Bowie collection. It seems that on a fairly regular basis, he or someone who is making him one, posts a pic of a gorgeous Bowie. Danbo, I admire your taste and hope that one day you will post a scad or two of pics of your Bowies.
Have a good weekend everybody.... Mongo

Wulf:
You only came across as helpful - not at all cranky, cynical or otherwise. You could have easily have called me an idiot, dumb-ass or douche bag and I'd be fine with that. Thanks for the input. Is it wrong that I should be working right now, but I'm sitting here in my underwear?

Just as a side note - I started looking into Bowies a day or two ago and have already seen some of the most beautiful and impressive stuff going. I had no idea.

Mike - interesting search results. I think I even saw a picture of Spark.

No way I can stay out of a Bowie thread:

Here's a super-clean offering from THE MAN - Jerry Fisk:

And another from a rapidly-rising star in the bladesmith category - John Fitch:
