Breeden Knives Made in America!

Bryan Breeden is a knife maker out of Nebraska. He spends much of his time in the woods cutting trees for a living and making knives when the weather is bad. While growing up Bryan spent his youth hunting, trapping and fishing. After talking with Bryan about knives and the outdoors I realized we shared a lot of the same views on what we use knives for. Being in the Marines Bryan was exposed to all aspects of survival and the importance of a knife. He is currently using 01 tool steel and orange G-10 scales. Welcome Breeden Knives and lets hope the weather stays bad at least in your neck of the woods!

PSKK II

Specs:

Steel-01

Blade Length-4" Drop Point

Thickness 3/32"

Cutting Surface-3 7/8"

Overall-7 3/4"

RC-59-60

The PSKK II (Personal Survival Kit Knife) is very light making it perfect for backpacking and summit attempts. This is the bigger brother to the PSKK which has a 3" blade. If you ever wanted a thin lightweight full tang knife perfect for whittling and making trap notches then this is it. Combined with a chopper you can cover all the bases. Very handy size in between a neck knife and a small sheath knife. Imagine a Mora 510 meets CS Roach Belly and you got the PSKK II. This knife is a joy to use in the kitchen and in the woods.

This will be a work in progress as I am still doing tests and will be posting more pictures in the next day or two.

Handles were nice and comfortable while whittling.

Now for the Baton test.

Tip first is a little hard on handles and the knife in general. The thin blade held up fine.

This pine had some hard knots. I usually will stop or pull the blade out once I hit a knot but this time I just kept hammering. No damge to the blade.

A good combo.

Easy to find orange.

Yes this is only one of a line of knives. Stay tuned you'll see more of his work. He goes by Sicily02 here on the forums.

Great pics. I like the size and shape of the pskk. Great review too.

Nice but I'd want fatter and more contoured scales.

My biggest complaint of most knives is too thin scales.

Texastonydobbs likes orange handles and so do I.

Yes this is true but I also like the design or style of the handle , looks pretty comfy. looks like it would fit alot of different hand types small-large .I wish there were some thumb notches for more control, over all good looking knife:thumbup:

Hey Hollow there is another knife in the thread towards the bottom called the Pathfinder. It has Hollowdweller handles written all over it. It features a 5" rounded handle and I thought of you when I held it.

I like it, how thin is this bad boy? The Pathfinder looks like it would work nice for general duties.

Nice review bear. I like the shot of that orange handle trying to hide in the grass. Point well made. Also, I see the small handle as a compromise designed to keep the weight down, something I'm very sympathetic with on certain hikes. BTW, how thick is that blade?

Hi everyone, thanks for the comments on the Pskk II. A very BIG thanks
to Bear the dog for the review and testing of the knife.:D I just got some
more supplies in today for more knife making. As said I make knives on
days that I can not get out to cut trees, well in another post I said
if some you do a rain dance that would be fine with me. I think some of
you really did it and it worked I have had rain pretty much all last week
and we are, it looks like going to see it this whole week too. So by this
Friday I will have some more knives ready and for shipping out.

Take care all,

Bryan

I got my PSK knife last night and I'm very pleased with it. I hope to post some pictures as soon as I can. Thanks, Bryan!
