Does anyone know if there are brighter bulbs, or other upgrades I can purchase for my Mini Maglite?

Thanks, Dan

The Brinkmann Nexstar Xenon bulb will give a good increase in brightness (I've heard anywhere from 50-100%.) at the expense of some run time, but as long as you're burning AAs, it's not like you'll go broke from the difference. They're available from Brinkmann direct.

Also, you could check in to the Opalec NewBeam, an LED conversion for Mini-Mags that gives a cleaner "whiter" light, burns quite a bit longer, and the LED bulbs lasts thousands of hours. It's not "brighter", but a cleaner light, much less yellowing, and bulb and battery life are bonuses. http://www.opalec.com/

Similarly, there's a conversion done by a number of members of the Candlepower Forums that drops a regulated Luxeon Star LED into a Mini-Mag. They're hard to get, and you're doing conversion work yourself, but Luxeon Stars are showing the potential to put many incandescents on the shelves in the next 3-5 years. Check for more info at www.candlepowerforums.com

I just got a two 8AA 2D conversion sticks and bulbs from Willie Hunt, and Electrical Engineer who now works for Surefire. Here's what it does:

1. It makes your Maglite brighter.

2. It gives you constant light. The conversion regulator includes a lightbulb voltage regulator so the voltage to the bulb remains constant.

3. It allows you to use lithium AA batteries.

You can find contact information HERE (scroll to the bottom)

:footinmou Oops--I missed the mini part :o
