I'll try my hand at a review! Can't have Elliot having ALL the fun!

The knife I am reviewing is a Bub Worrell Peanut. Bub is a very nice guy, and has been making knives for many years(he won't say ;-) ). Many makers, such as Ed Caffrey, Kit Carson, D'Holder have a signature knife, such as EBK and "My Knife". For Bub that is the "Peanut"
I had been hearing alot of good things about Bub on the Tkc-l(The Knife Collectors List) and so decided to hunt him up. Image my surprise when i found out he was from a small town in Indiana that I also lived in for 5 years when growing up.
This is the site I went to:

A very nice site, but to talk with Bub I found out, you really need to call him, as he is not very enamored with computers. The Peanut style is second from the bottom. I looked and was interested, so asked 9if he could do one for me, to which he replied 'Of Course, it's what I do!" So we worked out the details and this is what came out!

I was in love. The stats are as follows, the knife itself is only 2 1/4 inches overall, the scales are Mastadon Shin Bone, the Damascus is his own. The Geegaw is also Mastadon. Ooops here is pic with Geegaw.

Overall on the knife there is four(4) different styles of filework, top and bottom.

Also on top is one section chased in 18k gold. Needless to say I was in love. Wow all mine! But we were not through, because we needed a sheath. So this is what we came up with.

A nice black Same'(rayskin) sheath. Very nice.
All this for only $150.00 I was impressed. Bub is easy to work with and his workmanship is superior. His phone # is 1-765-483-0705
Peanut anyone?

Now If I did this right it will be a good post with pictures, if not I may need a mod to edit for me!

So how did I do for my 1st review?

Peace

Paul

Viper- I see what you did wrong.

You see how you typed [image] before the picture link and [/image] after it ??

you just type in
after it. That should do it.

[image]http.......[/image] NO GOOD !!

GOOD !!

Hope this helps, Donald.

Paul on page two of this forum you will find a 5 page thread on posting thumbnails. We started it as a practice thread, but so many people are using it we decided to leave it for future ref.

I will bring it back to the top so you can easily find it.

Hope that helps! Click on the edit button for this post, and for your post. Adding thumbnails is a pain, but they save bandwidth and it is a cool trick to learn. Your code is all wrong. It is , not link. and [img], not image. [url="http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/ubbcode.html"]UBB code FAQ. Take a look at thumbnails post that Gus brought BTT for you.

Thanks Para, one last task for me after I get home today

.

Check out the thumbnail posting thread it has step by step instructions on how to do what Para did.

Sometimes people have a hard time getting the URL of the thumbnail.
Gus

Paul, if you need a hand email me and we can get it.

I LOVE it! Have you used it yet? I have always wanted a really small fixed blade, but I was concerned about being able to handle one with confidence.

I had never heard of Bub Worrel until this moment, so I thank you for bringing his work to my attention.

What Brian said.

Bub will be going for his ABS Journeyman's stamp in June.

He is also playing with some ideas on autos. He sold his business last year and is now making full time in a new shop that he just finished. He still talks to me even though I did not get him to the ABS breakfast last year. (Flat on relatively new tires)

. That morning was a bummer! Not to mention I had to leave the Blade Show to get two new tires.

While we are at it here is another peanut that he made. Not as fancy as Pauls, but still a well done little knife.

Thanks guys! Actually I think I heard of Bub from Gus on TKCL. BTW Gus Bub said if you want to trade up your Peanut, bring it to Badger with you and he'll bring you one like mine, I thought he said, trade straight across ;-)

Brian, Bub told me what you have coming at Badger and I can't wait to see it.

Folks what is posted on Bub's site is a small fraction of what he does! His work is great. You just have to actually talk to him on the phone. He sent me a "catalog" of some of his work, about 14-15 pix and it is breath-taking.

Gus, Para thanks for all the help with the pix. Now if I could edit the post on top, I would be a happy camper.

Peace
