After talking to my best friend tonight and hearing him talk about his aniversary I dug out the Buck 110 he gave all the groomsmen at his wedding 8years ago. It has my initials and his wedding date engraved on it. He said a few years back that he appreciated the fact that I actually used the kinife contrary to the other guys that would let it sit in a drawer. Well some steel wool, wood polish, and brass polish cleaned that sweetheart up real nice. The next question is how do I get a real good edge back? I have a Sharpmaker coming in the mail next week but from what I hear and read that is not gonna do it as far as bringing an edge back, I guess it's not that bad but I wanna get this thing as sharp as I can. All opinions appreciated.

Metro....

The sharpmaker should do the job providing you don't have any chips or dings in the blade. Just start with the gray stones and do what the sharpmaker video tells you to do... Now, if there are a lot of chips or dings in the blade you'll be better off taking it in to a professional sharpening sevice and have them reprofile the edge. Once the edge is restored it should only take a couple of minutes with the fine (white) stones of the sharpmaker to restore a razors edge to your Buck.

You (and your friends:D ) are going to love the sharpmaker. It keeps everything I own, and most everything my friends and relatives own razor sharp. Absolutely the best 40 bucks I've ever spent on a knife accessory.

Your Sharpmaker will do fine. If you want the new EDGE 2000 put on send it,to Buck along with $6 (i think) and they will put the newer style edge on it.

I would really love to see some pictures of that good old 110 after you have finished with it.

What are the chances of that?
