Found this one was wondering if anyone knew time of production and possible value as I am starting to go through the bucks and want to keep some but can not keep all as my wife wants to use this one on me if I get anymore knives. Any and all info greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help

Buck 119, Two Line blade stamp 1969-1972. It appears to have Bone hard fiber spacers. Value fluctuates and we are in a down market, but it appears in great shape and if you have the original sheath you would probably be in the neighborhood of $90-$130ish give or take $10. PM me if you want to sell it.

I'd put it mfg. 69-71. Just me. The photo makes it look like a different spacer material was used between the aluminum spacers on the finger guard. Still. a very nice model 119. I like the curve of the belly on these models. DM

Buck changed from Bone hard fiber spacers to red micarta in early '72, but there's no need to split hairs. I'm just using known information in regards to dates. If I could tell you a month, week, and day I would but information is all speculation, its not an exact science...

My notes from Joe Houser's presentation which I attented state Buck changed from bone hard Fiber spacers to red micarta in 1969. But the model number was added in early 72 so, we know its not that. Without holding it in my hand it could even be 67-71 just by the stamp. Heck, I'll even bend and say a month into 72 since we don't know. DM

Thanks for info but I think I will keep this one, the 124 was my favorite buck but I like the way a 119 feeels better than the 124 both awsome do not get me wrong but the 119 just has a bettter balance as from holding each maybe I will keep all my knives and just get rid of the wife might be easier just kidding Honey. That is gonna be a question I will have How do you let go of a knife? I have not had to make that task as of yet but with 300+ knives my wife is pissed. Well thanks for help and yes original sheath is almost mint 1 nick on side will post some more as I do have a bunch of bucks and I will give 1st shot to mbj thanks and love the forum happy and safe 4th to all

Bone hard fiber with that stamp (if that's what the spacers are) means 1967 to late 1969.

They do, as somebody mentions, look like bone hard fiber.

So, this nice 119 could be 1967, 1968 or 1969 according to the picture.

If you decide to sell you might put on the big auction site. It might suprise you what it will bring. Just another thought.

Thanks for all info, will consider selling, just got to go through all knives to see what I got. Thanks to all forum members learning alot and meeting great people and the knives are all awsome love the different variations and collections here is another 119 a little younger but not by much I think somewhere around 73 if memory is right with 2x2 red spacers and read with knife pointing up Thanks Again all and have a safe and Happy 4th

Really does look to have bone hard fiber spacers and with a 2 line stamp, I'm with BG in supporting a 67-69 timeframe. If we could see the BACK of the original sheath, we could possibly narrow it down even more if you want.

nuto...

with 300+ knives I'm sure you have many you could go through and ditch them here or on the bay and never even know they're gone, I say grab about 20 or so, sell them, and buy your wife something with the cash... this my friend scores many points... get rid of something you love for someone you love...

then you can buy a few more knives :D

Thanks Battle will be getting rid of alot, but do not want to get rid of any without research and some photo's and as far as wife she gets what she wants when she wants it. Just so many knives are getting to her and the time of research as I have alot of different manufacturers and type, will give a shot here as I would rather knives go to collector verses someone trying to make a buck no pun intended, You will see the many bucks shortly as I will post and share with all and Thanks to all forum members and the Buck Reps Joe H, Jack, etc... for the help and Info Just hope I can find the original 110 I did see it just got to find.

Very, very, very wise advice.

:)

DM I went back and re-looked at the information and you were right, the spacer material was changed in '69 from bone hard fiber to red micarta. The production dates are in line as well with your "bend" date of '72. So for the most part we are in aggreement...

That sheath seals the deal...its got to be from 1969. Thats a Buck made sheath, which they started doing in 69, but the spacers are bone hard fiber, which they used until late 69. Its not an exact science but gets us close enough.

Thanks for all the help and 69 it is confirmed by Joe H, now I hope I can figure out the rest, but it is nice to have the expert help from all forum members Thanks Again All and have a great Weekend

Post pics of the knives you need help with and we will nail down a pretty close date of manufacture... Good luck and see you around the Buck site.
