Last couple of years I have been sending my step-son a knife for Christmas. This year I was thinking of a large stainless fixed knife, the Buck 124 is my first thought but I was trying to keep an open mind for alternatives.
I would like to keep it stainless and would prefer American made.

Before we can offer up any alternatives we'll need to know what the intended use of the knife will be, and what price range you have in mind. Once we get that down we can proceed from there.

I'll go with a Buck 124 as I don't need any more information. That model is a solid choice. DM

I don't want to spend over $150 or so.

Tell you the truth the knife will probably be used as a Zombie Killer\bragging knife to his friends. He is not much of a outdoors man.

The Buck 119 for $55 or newly released Buck 120 for $75 would probably work well for such a role. If you don't mind carbon steel then the SP line by Ontario would be quite good, as most can be had for even less.
