Buck 188 Iwo Jima commerative Question

A friend of mine showed me his Buck 188 today and It was a mirror polished stainless blade, green handle and it had the raising of the Flag picture in gold and it said 1945-1995 with #6 of 10 on the ricasso. It looked amazing. He had no idea what he had, he said he got it at a benefit and won it at a raffle. Has anyone else seen one of these. It was one of the most beautiful knives I have ever seen.

I saw one of these on ebay a few years ago and it had an outrageous 4-figure price on it. Ran for a few weeks with no bids and the owner pulled the auction. I have never seen one since and had not seen one prior to that time. Don't know who made it of for what reason, but definitely not worth anywhere near what the owner was asking in my book.
