Like the title says, I just bought a Buck 310 Whittler. It's a 3 bladed knife but the main blade says 309. I bought it at Bass Pro Shops for $29.99. It came with a wood gift box. I don't know if these are collectible because of the misprint on the blade but they are still available on line and at least at the Dania Beach Bass Pro Shop.

Situation is : Sometimes ends of production runs have been known to be finished using cross fitting componets. The old 319 will have 301 blades, old 313s might have a 321 blade or vs versa. The 310 shares size with the 309. Another spring and blade were added to the 309 to create the 310 Whittler. Use or keep as you see fit. It would be most valuable for a collection of 310 models or a collection of blade cross-overs but not so much by its lonesome.

I don't really care if it's rare...I was just telling other Buck fans that they're available.
The one I bought is a user.

yes some like the odd and unusual
thanks for thinking of them!
and they also could use 300's information !
as they may wander ... is it a saver or user

That has been going on with the 310 for a few years that I know of, I have one that I bought a few years ago.

I know this is an old thread that's been brought forward but I have a question about the 310. What is Buck's official name for the 310? Companion or Whittler. At the gunshow last weekend I came accross a dealer with some Buck 310's on the table. They did have 310 marked blades. One of the boxes was a black Buck box marked Companion, 310 on the end. Problem was the dealer had removed all the knives from their boxes to put on his table and the empty boxes were all jumbled together so there was no determining which knife came from which box. So we know some of the 309's and 310's shared the same "309" blade marking. Did they share the same name "Companion" at one time also?
