My Bantam is almost painful on my thumb to open. I like the F&F on the knife, so I don't want to return it until I know if there is anything I can do to help it. Is there any way to lessen the tension on the lockback, without voiding warranty (or at least without ruining the knife)? Also on a side note, this knife has greatly reduced my hatred of 420HC (my only other knife with it is an Omni hunter with a fault HT). It seems to work perfectly for a light-medium use folder.

Try soaking it in 3-in-one oil over night, then open and close it 1-200 times and see if this doesn't improve it. DM

By soaking do you mean oil and let is sit, or actually soak the pivot in a container of the oil?

dont worry about soaking, keep adding oil to the pivot whenever its dry, open and close the action whenever you arent asleep (as much as you can). What eventually worked for me was to take a coin and push down the lock back bar until its about 5mm overextended from where you would normally be able to push it with your finger, I did this about twice a day for a week along with a lot of use and pocket carry and I can flick it with my thuimb like your flicking a beer cap and it will snap right out.
