Was just browsing the Buck website and noticed the cutlery section. Was checking out the full sets with butcher block and all are coming up as "currently not available". Are these a seasonal kind of production item, a new item or have they been discontinued and the website is just out of date? The rosewood set looks especially nice and block of Bucks in my kitchen would be way nice. Mothers Day is just around the corner.;)

Whoops. Just scrolled down a little further on the site and it says they are "built upon order". Do/can I order from the site or do I need to call into Buck? Anyone else got a kitchen set?

I'd love to have the stag handle set, don't know if its still on the website, but dang its a chunk of change. I thought about the mothers day gift but I'd feel guilty as I think it would make me happier than her, and she does all the cook'n.

I got my wife the Kitchen set last year for Mother's Day and she loves it. I got her the green paperstone handle set as this matched our counter tops. They are quality knives and I heartily recommend them. As for handle material get what ever you think she will like. Yes, they do make them upon order. Its not like they have a inventory of sets ready to ship so, plan ahead. I would bet any woman will like a set for a gift. They are worth the dough. DM

I didn't buy a set, but, oppted to buy just the knives I liked. We have the chef's knife, large slicer, and med and small kitchen knives, all in Rosewood. My wife wasn't sure at first, but now loves them. I was tired of constantly sharpening cheap knives and even the "premiums" that some home and kitchen places carry are all junk. Our son is a Master Chef and invested in some European High Dollar chef's knives, yet, he's very impressed with the quality and value of the Buck's.

I've never been one much for buying "sets". Seems you always get something you don't need or never use. For me, a Buck in the kitchen is a no brainer!!

allthetime, Welcome. Yes those are the ones from Buck. I put their kitchen sets up against any ones. DM

Right there on the table laying in the flat wooden box is a Buck Cutlery set.
