I am wondering if anyone here can answer a few questions for me? I have an old buck Prince (probably almost 20 years old?) The scales are getting a little loose and it has other signs of almost daily use for the last 20 years. I just wonder if I can have a new blade (I want S30V) put in it at the manufacturer or if they even have that type of blade for that particular knife. It also needs some real work as the thing is pretty dinged up so I wondered if anyone has any idea what it costs for the spa treatment if Buck does that or if there is someone I could send it to and have it re-worked? If nothing else I think I could do everything but the re-blading. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks guys!

For that knife you should give Buck a call and see what they can do for you. 800-326-2825 . Your 503 though not that old may have seen some hard use I doubt Buck would have a S30V blade for that model but try anyway. Should they have any blade of up-grade steel for your model take it/ reserve it and send it to who ever they advise. The second route to try would be to purchase another one off the bay that was in good shape and close to the same year. DM

Hmmm. So they would actually SEND me a blade that I could then have someone replace the old one with? I didn't know thy did that. Next question, do they have to take the scales off to replace the blade? Cause I want to replace the scales myself but don't want to do it if they would just have to take them off to replace the blade. Buck doesn't necessarily do blade replacements then? I would have to go to someone private?

No, I was meaning send it in to Buck marked attention to:_ _ _ . On 2nd question, no. Third, question no they don't do blade replacements. HOWEVER, you never know what they have on hand so call...

Great! I will do that. I know people have had their other types of Buck folders blades replaced with different types of steel but I can't say that isn't some custom made thing by some individual.... I guess I'll have to wait and see. Thank you David for your info!
