I was eyeing the buffalo horn 110, Cabelas online (Cabela's 50th Anniversary Custom 110), and wondered if anyone owns one of these beauties and if so then how do you like it. I have never held a buffalo horn 110 and sure would like to see some more photos/pictures of one.

How does buffalo horn do over the years and decades? Is it stable? Does it offer any grip. Are there care and feeding recomendations for keeping this scale material tip top?

Nice looking knife, but at $500. for a decorative knife (i.e. not a user) it's not for me. I have one of the buffalo handled partial chip flint 110s with a bloody jasper band and arrowhead inset and I use it. I do like it and the $135. price new from Buck's web special page was much more friendly to my wallet. The horn is highly polished, but it does scratch rather easily. No problem, scratches go rather well with a chip flint blade.

I've always admired your knife wolfdog. You are a sharp-eyed buyer. Quite a bargain you got on that model.

I just designed a Buck custom 110 with asian Waterbuffalo scales, S30V blade steel, pins, brass hardware and leather sheath. At about $120, plus shipping, it seems affordable when compared to the C. anniversary 110's price.

I have a custom shop 110 with smooth Buffalo horn scales,nickel silver bolsters,and S30V blade.I've only had it a little over a year,but love the heck out of it.Think I paid $130 and change for it,from Bucks custom shop.I don't know how it'll hold up over decades of service,but so far so good.

I would sure love to see it. Any pics? Pretty please.

Did you get scale pins (a tricky decision as I don't like proud or sharp pins but I don't want to see the scales pop off but I don't want to weaken the horn with holes and hammered pins but I like clean lines but I like the added grip the pins give...)

Sorry man,I don't do the pic thing yet.Yes I got the pins,it has'nt affected the horn at all.I wipe my handle down,as well as the blade,with an oil rag(very lightly oiled).I think you will really like Bucks S30V also,it's good stuff!

I just did a mock-up of your design on the Buck web site. It looks like a beauty, and one you won't be afraid to use. S30V is my favorite steel.

Oregon,your going to love your 110... :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

The first one cost $100 and the second, from the custom shop was a bit more. I think they are a great value versus the $500 price tag that Oregon reported Cabelas was asking for their suped up version. Pretty knife but pricey.

Incredibly attractive knives Mike. Wow!

The buffalo 110 reminds me of the 2011 Buck Legacy 121 Buffalo Guide because they both have Buffalo horn with bone inlay.

The jigged Buffalo horn and BG-42 110 really looks like it was made for a king. Simply perfect on all fronts.

Thank you kindly for showing them.

Gotta be tricky to run the vacuum in your place:)
