Anyone know of a good source for the whole horn. All of the knife suppliers I've looked at only sell sections.

I've bought them at the flea markets for as little as $6 each. They're usually the lighter colored ones but you might find some dark ones or dye them.

Take care!! Michael

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms!!!

Have you called Texas Knifemaker's Supply? While not in their catalog, at one time or the other, I have seen the whole horn. K&G also carries some really nice looking tapers. Check with them as well.

For their telephone numbers, check out -

I am currently out of the whole buffalo horns, but anticipate delivery of them in about 4 to 5 weeks.

As for buying them from a flea market, be certain that the horns are not from domestic water buffalo. A night in day difference between Indian buffalo horn & American buffalo horn!

Hope this helps.

you might try "Dixie Gun Works". They have lots of different stuff like that. They have a site on the web, and also a catalog.
